 Welcome!
I admire your tenacity and vulnerability.
I invite you in this space as you are.

Have you and your partner been caught in a vicious cycle, resulting in feelings of exhaustion, insecurity, and resentment? Are you having a difficult time communicating and relating to your partner? Do you desire emotional connection with your partner or loved ones? You or your partner may have engaged in an unfaithful act, overloaded with work or parental duties, experienced complexity in the blending of two households, endured frustration in obtaining shared solutions, or identified unhealthy patterns that may lead to separation or heartbreak.

Regardless of what you are experiencing, I am glad you are here as sustainable change starts with you. Your narrative and worldview are authentic and valuable. The adversities we encounter can be overwhelming, resulting in isolation, stagnation, and disconnection with ourselves and others. It takes deep courage to ask for help and acknowledge that at times we cannot do it alone. We all need a secure and empathic platform to process our experiences, emotions, and needs in order to repair and heal our relationships and ourselves. You do not have to be isolated in your struggle, I am here to help.

My name is Deborah. I am a fully licensed marriage and family therapist and board-approved clinical supervisor in the state of Texas. I received my Doctor of Philosophy in Marriage and Family Therapy at an accredited university. I have completed my clinical training at one of the nation’s most esteemed research institutions here in Dallas. I have obtained extensive specialized training in couples, family, and individual counseling, using a highly effective therapeutic model involving adult attachment. I carry years of experience helping individuals like yourselves find hope, reverence, peace and connection again.

My hope is that this may be a rich and raw growing experience that invites you to feel safe, seen, and validated. I will maintain curiosity to understand your lived experiences and work collaboratively with you to provide the support, insight, and skills you need to shift with the ever-evolving world around us. As a result, you may capture emotional depth, connectedness, and healing with your partner, loved ones, and/or yourself. You may discover that the adversities you faced that once provided hindrance actually provides the vibrant hue and exquisite detail on your canvas. I hope that your healing journey will support you to acquire emotional maturity and life with deep purpose. If you allow yourself to trust in the therapeutic process, you may see authentic beauty unfold in your life and your relationship with others. I look forward to creating meaningful shifts with you!

Endorsements

I strongly recommend Dr. Deborah Holt as a therapist. She has many excellent therapeutic skills based on a deep understanding of human development and the family as a system. Her broad background provides a basis for understanding and working with people from all walks of life. I would strongly recommend her to my family members when needing counseling.

Deborah is one of the brightest students I had in many years of teaching family therapists. She has keen insight for helping clients with a wide array of problems. Deborah has clinical skills far beyond her age and experience. She does well with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Deborah has strong understanding of people from all walks of life and will facilitate their improvement whatever the presenting issue from divorce/remarriage, life adjustment issues, couple relationships, parenting issues to depression and anxiety management (anger issues). She is one of the best available in North Texas.
— Dr. Glen Jennings, Professor Emeritus of Family Therapy Texas Woman’s University
I have personally observed Deborah’s leadership, keen intellect, powerful empathy, and masterful therapeutic abilities. She connects easily with those around her and has a compassionate heart that leads her to find and connect with those that most need empathy and care. She has been a leader in class room discussions, helping the more reserved, quiet voices in the room find their place. She has a keen talent for recognizing when someone doesn’t feel included and finds a way to engage them and be respectful of their voice, even when that voice has a different opinion than her own. She would often be the last to leave class, engaging with fellow students and often times with me to better understand the material and the growth she was experiencing. I could always count on her to help struggling students, soothe fears from her colleagues, and bring safety into the room.

She typifies the kind of future leader our field needs. Leadership comes naturally to her in a way that is open and inviting and unassuming, and she often doesn’t realize her innate leadership abilities. I am happy to give Deborah my highest recommendation. She is in the top 5% of our student body and has great potential to make significant contributions to the field. I cannot overstate how blessed and how much you will benefit from her counseling and mentorship. She is an amazing therapist and colleague and I give my highest recommendation.
